Water is essential for a living being. Due to this, your homemade cat food should also include water. An ideal cat food will contain about 10% to 30% water.


Carbohydrate (carbs) is important, too. All good homemade cat food recipes should have less than 10% carbs content.

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salmon oil (if you don’t have salmon oil, you can replace it with olive oil)

  • 30 grams of skin-less potato
  • 50 grams of carbs (you can use peas, oatmeal, white rice or cooked pasta)
  • 83 grams of animal protein (you can use cooked salmon, tuna, pork, beef or chicken)

Then, mix all of these ingredients together using a blender. Store it in your freezer until it is needed. Easy, right?
