Unlock the profession system
Complete Eloise’s Making Dough quest, then choose one gathering trade and one crafting trade. The developer’s beta guide lists a 50-Silver learning fee for a profession. Check your intended combination before paying.

Check the recipe
Confirm ingredients and requirements in your current build before gathering from an old list.

Track missing materials
List the materials you still need. Separate stored materials from those you hope to find.

Advance your trade
At profession level 75, speak to the relevant trainer in The Cauldron to advance from Apprentice to Journeyman for a fee. Found recipes must be extracted safely and discovered in the Château; you need the matching profession and required level.

Budget the attempt
Consider the supplies you will spend seeking the material. Start affordably when learning an unfamiliar route.

Check the recipe first
Confirm the profession, recipe access and current ingredient quantities. A related recipe at the same level is not a prerequisite unless the game says so.
Subtract what you already own
Set the intended number of crafts and enter owned materials in the checklist. Collect the shortfall instead of carrying another full recipe’s worth unnecessarily.
Choose what the output is for
Decide whether the craft supplies a deployment, a quest or another recipe. Keep materials reserved for that purpose before selling surplus.
