HUNGER / GUIDE

Your Stash, bags & the Vault

Separate per-character storage from account-wide storage before planning your next run.

Understand storage and carrying

Visit Louis to prepare

Missive X describes Louis in the Outer Ramparts as your Stashkeeper. Each unlocked character has a separate Stash. Returning expedition funds transfer into its currency slot; deposit and withdraw your equipment before setting out.

Use expansion space deliberately

The announced starting layout has 50 item slots, 10 weapon slots and four expansion slots. Reputation with Louis opens additional expansion slots. Bags placed there expand item or weapon storage; a bag committed to storage is unavailable for carrying expedition loot.

Recover after a server crash

The closed-beta changelog says recovered inventory is sent to the Stash a few minutes after a server crash. This is a crash-recovery system, not an exemption from losing carried equipment through normal expedition deaths. The beta also prevents moving maps from the Stash into carried inventory, so they cannot be lost that way.

Check map study before logging off

The starter guide checked on 20 October warns that logging off shortly after studying a map can consume it without completing the unlock. Verify that the map is available before ending the session. Mr Sweet occasionally sells maps that can replace a lost copy; his stock is not guaranteed. The developer gives no safe waiting time or automatic refund.

Distinguish the Vault

The Vault is described as shared storage across characters, accessed later through progression. No exact unlock level is established here. These are developer-described systems from 5 June 2026, reviewed 6 October; confirm capacity and access requirements in your current build.

WDguide planning advice

Before leaving the hub

Read the actual storage destination and protected-slot rules before moving something valuable. An item visible in storage is different from an item carried into the next expedition.

While filling a bag

Reserve space for the task’s named items. Compare new loot against that purpose before discarding supplies that support the return.

After a successful return

Offload the materials you were collecting and recheck the next loadout. Do not accidentally take the entire crafting reserve back into the field.
