WARDOGS / GUIDESeason 2
Beginner guide
Your first kit. Your first push. Your place in the team.
Buy the kit in a useful order.
01 / BEFORE YOU LEAVE
Choose a weapon you can already access. An unlock fee buys access; the store price buys the item. Paying one does not cover the other. The example below keeps those decisions separate.
- 01
Primary first.
Check the rifle’s calibre and available firing modes. For the example, the reference lists 5.56×45 mm with semi-auto and automatic fire.
- 02
Make it usable.
In the vendor, select ammunition and a magazine listed for that exact weapon. Matching calibre alone does not confirm that a magazine fits. Verify what comes included before buying spares.
- 03
Pack protection and supplies.
Choose accessible armour and a helmet, then fit healing supplies and spare ammunition into your backpack. The planner’s list does not validate the in-game inventory arrangement.
- 04
Check the replacement cost.
Price the whole kit. If replacing it would empty your wallet, remove an optional optic or expensive specialist tool first.
Check the server and the vendor.
SEASON 2 / ARRIVING AT THE FRONT
The server browser now shows regional maximum-ping limits. Sustained high ping can lead to a kick and prevent rejoining that server until its next map change; the notes exclude temporary spikes and server-side lag from that policy.
When joining a match in progress or changing teams, the map stays obscured and the Spawn Vehicle is unavailable until your first visit to the control zone. A team at least 40 points behind second place qualifies for a 20% vendor discount. This applies to every faction; the Blue/Lonestar bonus announced at launch was subsequently removed.
Rebuy Last Loadout now fills the vendor selection for review before purchase. Check the full total and missing items before confirming; an old saved kit is not a promise that every item is currently accessible.
Choose a destination before a ride.
02 / LEAVE WITH A PLAN
Use the current match map to find the active objective and your teammates. WDGuide’s map is a planning reference: its pins and tower colours do not show live ownership.
- 01
Name the destination.
Ask which objective your squad is approaching. Agree on a landmark so “over there” does not send players to different places.
- 02
Agree on the drop-off.
Tell the driver where you want to leave the vehicle. Pick an approach with cover and an alternate route if the first one is contested.
- 03
Move as a group.
After dismounting, regroup before crossing exposed ground. Keep close enough to help a teammate without standing on top of them.
- 04
Read the objective prompt.
Use the current game’s instructions for capture and activation. Tower-console locations and code rules in older beta guides may differ.
Choose one support job.
03 / MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL
For a first squad outing, offer a simple job: watch an approach, carry extra healing, or accompany a supply delivery. Ask what is missing before buying a specialist tool that duplicates someone else’s kit.
Example: “I’ll watch the road while you revive; tell me when you’re ready to move.” This gives two players different tasks and a clear moment to regroup. Do not rush a casualty if the same attacker still has a clear shot.
After the first deployment, change one thing that caused a problem. Ran out of ammunition? Adjust your resupply plan. Could not see a target clearly? Compare optics. Never reached your squad? Fix the route before buying a more expensive weapon.
Fix the problem before the next deployment.
Buying access instead of the item
A role level and unlock fee may still leave the actual store purchase unpaid. Read both lines before budgeting.
Taking a tool without its supplies
Hammers need Build Supplies; powered repair drills need batteries. A tool’s purchase price does not include every requirement.
Confusing the two maps
WDGuide helps plan a route. Check the live match map for your current position, ownership and active objective.
